DuPage Health Department Encourages Testing, Vaccines For Hepatitis
The DuPage County Health Department is encouraging residents to get tested for hepatitis during Hepatitis Awareness month.
WHEATON, IL — The DuPage County Health Department (DCHD) is encouraging residents to get tested for hepatitis and vaccinated, when possible. The public service push comes as part of Hepatitis Awareness Month.
Vaccines are available to prevent hepatitis A and B, whereas hepatitis C can be treated with medication if detected early.
According to DCHD, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends hepatitis testing for adults at least once. They recommend women be tested for hepatitis if they are pregnant.
