DuPage Named Healthiest County In Illinois For 3rd Straight Year

DUPAGE COUNTY, IL — DuPage County was recently selected as the healthiest county in Illinois, per the 2023 County Health Rankings and Roadmaps. This marks the third year in a row DuPage topped this roundup, which is curated by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

“Being ranked as the healthiest county in Illinois for three consecutive years is a testament to the outstanding work of our Health Department, healthcare systems, and other providers in the County. Their efforts do not go unnoticed, and we are grateful for their dedication to providing access to healthcare and ensuring our residents can live the healthiest lives possible,” DuPage County Board Chair Deb Conroy said in a statement.

To select the healthiest counties, the list evaluated 30 metrics linked to civic infrastructure and civic health.

DCHD attributed its high ranking to initiatives such as:

• Heroin/Opioid Prevention and Education (HOPE) Taskforce
• HOPE Leadership Team
• Behavioral Health Collaborative
• Healthy Equity and Access Response Team
• DuPage Early Childhood Collaboration
