DuPage Turnout 'More Than Double 2020' During 1st Day Of Early Voting
Early voting for the general election started Sept. 26, bringing a record number of voters out in DuPage County.
WHEATON, IL — DuPage County voters came out in record numbers for the first day of early voting in the 2024 General Election, more than doubling the number of voters who turned out on the first day of early voting in 2020.
On Thursday, 1,533 voters cast their ballots, compared to 660 in 2020. DuPage County voters shattered records in 2020 and County Clerk Jean Kaczmarek said she's cautiously optimistic that turnout will be considerable for the Nov. 5 election.
“While it’s too early to make predictions, it appears that DuPage County is on track to have a large turnout for this presidential election. There’s excitement in the air,” Kaczmarek said in a statement. “In 2020, the turnout was 76.55% with 491,067 ballots cast – the largest turnout in DuPage history.”
