Fire Damages Condo Building In Wheaton

A fire broke out in a Wheaton condo building around 2 p.m. Wednesday.

WHEATON, IL — A fire left two units uninhabitable in a condo building in Wheaton Wednesday afternoon.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. in the 1600 block of Thames Court. Fire officials say the blaze started in the building's laundry area. Firefighters put out the flames "within minutes," a news release said.

The residents of the two affected units were displaced from their homes, but no one was injured. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
