Free Criminal Records Expungement Clinic Planned In DuPage County

Registration for the free event closes on Aug. 13.

WHEATON, IL — Residents who are interested in having their criminal record expunged can meet with an attorney and begin the expungement request process at a free DuPage County Expungement Clinic Oct. 2 at the DuPage County Administration Building, 421 N County Farm Rd.

“For many people, getting their criminal records cleared is the first step towards getting a good job, safe housing, or entering the military," DuPage County Circuit Court Clerk Candice Adams said in a news release.

Adams added, "Many prospective employers run criminal background checks, and a past criminal history can pose a problem. A clear record helps bring people back into society and gives them a better chance to succeed."
