Funds Support Programming For Free Swim Lessons In DuPage County
Swimming facilities in DuPage County can apply for grants that will help fund free swim lessons.
DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County Health Department is making strides in with its Protect Swimmers 10 Million program, which is offering grants to help local swim facilities offer free swim lessons for kids within the three to five-year-old age group.
Grant funds of $2,000 to $4,000 will be awarded to local park districts, schools and other places that may offer swim lessons. As many as 10 facilities will be awarded grants this cycle, including in other counties in the Chicagoland area.
It's estimated that half the grants will be awarded within DuPage County and the other half will be awarded beyond the county limits, per the application.
