The Guild Hopes To Bring Cafe-Restaurant, Bookstore To Former Maypole Space
On Thursday, Wheaton's liquor commission will weigh The Guild's application for a Class A liquor license.

WHEATON, IL — The Guild, a cafe, bookstore and bar is hoping to open in the space on Front Street that was once home to Maypole Restaurant. Wheaton's liquor commission will review the restaurant's application for a class A liquor license on Thursday.
Per city documents, The Guild will serve breakfast at 7 a.m., with lunch starting at 11 a.m. A dinner menu will be available from 4 p.m. until the restaurant closes at 10 p.m. on weekdays or 11 p.m. on weekends.
The breakfast selection is set to include omelets, pastries, oatmeal and more. For lunch, diners can order such items as salads and sandwiches. The Guild's dinner menu will offer small plates and shareable eats.

Alcohol will be served "on a very limited basis" during breakfast and lunch, full bar service available from 4 p.m. to close.
The Guild plans to fill the 121 W. Front St. space with small dining tables and counters, couches and reading chairs and bookcases of different shapes and sizes.
