WHEATON, IL — A resident came home to find three burglars inside their house, and other crimes were reported in mid-March in Wheaton, according to the city's most recent police blotter.

House Burglarized

A resident told police they came home to find three burglars inside their house in the 1200 block of Coolidge Avenue. Once the homeowner confronted the burglars, they left, according to the crime blotter. The incident took place March 13 around 5:15 p.m.

Phone Scam

A scammer called a resident posing as a representative from the DuPage County Sheriff's Office. The scammer said they needed money to be sent electronically to cover court costs, per the police blotter. The resident complied. The incident happened on March 10 around 12 p.m.

Attempted Car Theft

Someone broke a window to get into a car in the 1400 block of Stonebridge Circle. The vehicle owner told police the steering column had been damaged. The incident took place sometime between 7:30 p.m. on March 11 and 7:15 a.m. March 12.
