Man Accused Of Hitting Minibike Rider With Skateboard In West Chicago
A 26 year-old-man was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault.

WEST CHICAGO, IL — A 26-year-old West Chicago man faces aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after police say he hit a minibike rider with a skateboard.
Alejandro Valdez was also charged wtih aggravated batttery in a public place in connection with Thursday's incident.
Police were called to the 800 block of Main Street around 1:20 p.m. after a report that a man on a minibike had been looking at his phone when Valdez came up behind him and hit him with the skateboard, a news release said. Police say the man then dropped his phone and Valdez kicked him in the stomach.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital.
Valdez was arrested later that day and is being held at DuPage County Jail.
