Mi Casa Restaurant Looks To Add Beer, Wine, Cocktails To Its Menu
The city's liquor commission unanimously approved the restaurant's application for a Class A liquor license at it Aug. 14 meeting.

WHEATON, IL — Mi Casa Restaurant and Grill is hoping to add beer, wine and liquor to its menu. The restaurant, located at 1720 N. Main St., recently got the green light from the city's liquor commission for a Class A liquor license.
On Aug. 14, the liquor commission unanimously voted in favor of the application. Class A liquor licenses are not available for fast food restaurants, per the city code, but commissioners agreed that Mi Casa does not qualify as a fast food restaurant.
Yesenia Miranda and Karina Tapia were at the meeting representing Mi Casa Restaurant and Grill. Tapia said the restaurant had been more of a "counter service" restaurant under its former owners, but has become more of a dine-in restaurant since she and her mother took over the eatery in January.

"We definitely have more sit-down service now," Tapia said. She added they offer water to their counter service customers, who may enjoy having a beer while they're waiting for their food.
Tapia said the restaurant would serve batched cocktails, and would alter their counter to include a bar area.

She added, "We're trying to expand. Hopefully, by next summer, we're opening up the patio area to get more seating."
The Wheaton City Council is set to review Mi Casa Restaurant and Grill's liquor license application at its Sept. 2 meeting.
