More Than 90 Citations Issued Amid Heightened Patrols In DuPage County
The increased traffic safety efforts took place in late June and early July.
DUPAGE COUNTY — More than 90 citations were issued in July amid heightened patrols by the DuPage County Sheriff's Office (DCSO).
Seatbelt safety was the main focus of the initiative, which resulted in a total of 13 tickets for safety restraint violations.
DCSO says the following infractions took place:

- 36 distracted driving incidents
- 13 seatbelt violations
- 11 speeding violations
- 8 uninsured motorists tickets
- 5 failure to signal tickets
- 4 incidences of expired plates
- 2 suspended registrations
- 4 tickets for expired licenses
- 1 driving without a valid license
- 1 driving without a valid registration
- 1 driving without headlights
- 1 incident of following too close
- 1 incident of disobeying a traffic signal
- 1 citation for improper lighting
- 1 citation for failure to dim lights
- 1 citation for an improper turn
- 1 driver without front plates on their car
The safety campaign began June 20 and lasted through July 7 as part of the statewide Click It or Ticket and Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over initiatives.
