Popeye's Restaurant Unanimously Approved By Wheaton City Council
The new development will also address flooding issues at the long-vacant site, Mayor Phil Suess said during Monday's meeting.

WHEATON, IL — A development for a Popeye's restaurant received unanimous approval from the Wheaton City Council Monday. The restaurant will be located at 1815 Main St., which was once home to a Dunkin' Donuts.
Wheaton's Planning and Zoning recommended the 1,580 square foot drive-thru restaurant for approval at its March 11 meeting, with a vote of four to one. The special use permit is contingent on specific conditions, including ensuring that wetland and floodplain approval gets authorization from both the city and DuPage County.
At Monday's City Council meeting, City Manager Michael Dzugan said, "The site’s been vacant for quite some time, so it’s actually exciting to see someone willing to invest in redeveloping this property.”
