WHEATON, IL — The city's liquor commission will review an application Thursday to allow Scissors & Scotch to serve alcohol at a barbershop proposed for 21 Town Square in Wheaton. The barbershop would be the company's first Illinois location.

The petitioner is requesting an amendment to the liquor code. The spot, which was home to the Frank Gironda Salon, is currently zoned to allow beer and wine sales, but not for alcohol sales.

Per the liquor code, customers who drink at the salon must do so while receiving "contemporaneous services." The code also limits alcohol consumption by customers to one drink an hour, with a total limit of three drinks.
