Search of Lake Michigan Continues for Missing DuPage County Woman

A search continues today for a 20-year-old DuPage County woman who disappeared Friday night in Lake Michigan while swimming with two friends off an Indiana beach.

High waves and a rip current caused trouble for the trio and emergency personnel went out to rescue them at about 7 p.m., according to the Indiana Department of Natural resources. Beach-goers were able to bring the other two swimmers to shore, but Chase Froese, 20, of Carol Stream, disappeared.

Local rescue teams are combing the beaches this morning, while U.S. Coast Guard and Indiana conservation boats are searching the surface of Lake Michigan.
