WHEATON, IL — What started during the pandemic as an alternative to indoor dining has become an annual tradition in Wheaton. The Hale Street dining tents will return May 3, leading to some road closures for the duration of the season.

To start, part of Hale Street will close the evening of April 28 as crews start to set up the tents. The closure will stretch between Wesley and Front Streets and will be in effect until early fall.

The Hale Street Tents give residents a shaded place to eat al fresco as they enjoy food from surrounding restaurants. On occasion, musicians perform live music for diners at the Hale Street Tents.
