A new emergency texting capability will help residents who are unable to make a phone call when they are in distress.

DUPAGE COUNTY — DuPage County residents now have access to Text to 911, a service that allows those in an emergency to text 911 if they cannot make a call. The service is also helpful for residents with limited or no hearing or who are unable to speak.
