Vaccines Encouraged For Babies, Infants During Nationwide Initiative
The DuPage County Health Dept. has joined other health care providers to encourage vaccinations during National Infant Immunization Week.
DUPAGE COUNTY — The DuPage County Health Department is encouraging parents to make sure their babies and infants are up-to-date with their immunizations. The move comes amid a nationwide push for awareness during National Infant Immunization Week.
“Routine childhood immunizations help build a strong foundation for a lifetime of
health,” Adam Forker, Executive Director of DuPage County Health Department (DCHD), said in a statement.
Forker added, “By choosing to vaccinate on schedule, families are taking an important step in protecting their children and the broader community.”

Citing immunizations for chicken pox, whooping cough and measles, among illnesses, DCHD's news release said "[v]accines are one of the most effective tools we have to prevent serious illnesses during a child’s earliest and most vulnerable years."
