Wheaton Police Adapt 'Shop With A Cop' Program During Pandemic

Officers delivered wrapped Christmas gifts to families in need while maintaining COVID-19 safety protocols.

On Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020, members of the Wheaton Police Department helped spread holiday cheer with some of our community's families in need.

The current pandemic forced some changes to this year's Shop with a Cop event, and unfortunately, officers couldn't go shopping with the children. Instead, each family supplied a Christmas list to the officers, which was used to buy gifts at Target. The officers volunteered their time, and the funds were supplied by the Metropolitan Alliance of Police 699.
