Missing 13-Year-Old From Wilmette Located In Chicago

A Wilmette teen who was reported missing was found safe late Tuesday night in Chicago.

The Wilmette Police Department issued an alert at 4:57 p.m. Tuesday, only identifying the missing teen as Jacob.

WILMETTE, IL — A 13-year-old boy from Wilmette who was reported missing was found safe and well in Chicago late Tuesday night, police announced.

Multiple police agencies searched for the teen after he was reported missing in the afternoon.

The Wilmette Police Department issued an alert, only identifying the teen as Jacob. The Evanston Police Department joined in the search, utilizing a drone and K9 search teams.

Jacob was last seen in the area of 14th Street and Wilmette Avenue around 3:15 p.m., according to the original report from authorities. He was wearing a dark blue sweatshirt, a yellow shirt and black pants.

Wilmette police announced he was found just before 11 p.m.

"The Wilmette Police Department thanks the public for their assistance in searching for Jacob, who was found in Chicago safe and well," authorities said in a statement.
