Repairs To Close Union Lake Avenue Railroad Crossing In Wilmette
The Union Pacific Railroad crossing is due to close for nearly 60 hours, village staff announced.
WILMETTE, IL — The railroad crossing at Lake Avenue and Green Bay Road in Wilmette is scheduled to close to all traffic for urgent repairs, village officials announced.
The closure is due to begin at 6 a.m. on Friday, March 18 and continue until 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 20.
During that time Union Pacific Railroad will complete "necessary repairs to its infrastructure at that crossing," according to village staff.

Posted detours will send traffic south to Central Avenue on Green Bay Road and 12th Street for drivers headed east and west on Lake Avenue, respectively.
