Welcoming the Stranger series concludes on March 16, '25
Trinity Wilmette's Community Conversation attracts compassionate North Shore community

In the face of tectonic challenges to common decency underway throughout the U.S.A., labeling refugees and asylum seekers desperate for a better life as criminals must be countered. Through its Community Conversation series on "Welcoming the Stranger," Trinity Wilmette provided the opportunity to learn about policy, identify supports, and hear the stories of Chicago immigrants' experiences. Now the series concludes with "Mobilizing Community Resources" on March 16, 2025, at 3:30 p.m. at 1024 Lake Avenue in Wilmette. The conclusion brings individuals and organizations together to support one another and mobilize long-term help so that immigrants can thrive in Chicago, as they have for generations. The meeting is free and open to the public. RSVPs are appreciated.
The presenters on March 16 include Martha Name, a Community Services Organizer and property manager who has instituted a thriving community program in a HUD-subsidized 310-unit building, and Julie Stark, M. Ed., an expert in Talent Development Strategy and corporate training design. As a training consultant, Ms. Stark specializes in the areas of training strategy, design and delivery for all levels of an organization.
