Music in the Park, Outdoor Dining in Winnetka

Here's what you need to know for this Wednesday.

Know: FEMA has extended the registration deadline for those affected by the storms and flooding of April and May. The new deadline is today. More information is available here.

Eat:
It's been a long time since we've had weather this perfect — take advantage of it with dinner on the outdoor patio at Avli Estiatorio. It's known for being one of the best outdoor spots around, complete with an authentic Greek menu.

Do:
Few things are as fun as Wednesdays in the Woods in downtown Winnetka! Come early to check out specials at shops around Hubbard Woods and the great farmer's market. Don't forget to bring a blanket to stretch out while you watch live band Crazy Talk!

Plan:
Meet your local politicians at the Bottle Shop in Wilmette on Thurs. from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is sponsored by the New Trier Democrats, and includes Congressman Brad Schneider, State Rep. Robyn Gabel, Cook County Commissioner Larry Suffredin and Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Commissioner Debra Schoreand. The meeting is free — and so is the pizza. Background music is provided by Rick Frank.
