Winnetka Diner Closes After 39 Years

Boris' Café in Hubbard Wood closed April 28.

Boris Stojanovski and his wife Nada served their customers for the last time at Boris’ Café in Hubbard Woods on April 28. The couple closed the Winnetka diner because the new owner of the building at 972 Green Bay Rd. has new plans for the site, Winnetka Talk reported.

The couple ran the café for 16 years and 23 years before that at the old Lakeside Coffee House on Chestnut Street; 68-year-old Boris says he wanted to stay open a couple more years but with business ebbing and flowing and change of building owners it was time to close shop, Winnetka Talk reported.
