10 Local Joints Face Off Tonight in 2017 Pizza Wars
The event will take place at Downers Grove South High School.
You might want to save some room for a big dinner tonight — the District 99 Education Foundation is pitting 10 pizza joints against each other to determine this year's best local pizza.
The event will take place at Downers Grove South High School from 5:30-8 p.m. Thursday night, according to its website. Pizza tasting will start when doors open and end at 7:15 p.m., when votes will be cast. The winner will be announced as early as 7:30 p.m.

- Wood Grain in Westmont
- L&F Pizza in Westmont
- John & Eddie's in Downers Grove
- Home Run Inn in Downers Grove
- Tortorice's in Downers Grove
- Olive Theory Pizza in Downers Grove
- Lou Malnati's in Downers Grove
- Papa's Pizza in Woodridge
- Cucinova in Westmont
Tickets are $10 in advance (they can be purchased online here) and $15 at the door. Raffle tickets will also be available for $1, or six for $5. All proceeds from the event will go toward Downers Grove North and South high schools.
