126 Tickets Doled Out During July 4 Traffic Crackdown In Woodridge

Woodridge police issued 126 traffic tickets during increased patrols that kicked off June 16 and spanned the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Police in Woodridge issued 126 traffic tickets for speeding, seatbelt violations and other offenses during increased enforcement that spanned Fourth of July weekend.

The following citations were issued during the crackdown, which took place June 16 through July 5:

  • 47 seatbelt tickets
  • 45 speeding tickets
  • 13 cellphone tickets
  • 12 tickets for no insurance
  • Eight tickets for "other violations"
  • Four tickets for driving with a suspended or revoked license
  • One arrest for a warrant

The increased patrols in Woodridge were part of a statewide effort that involved over 200 law enforcement agencies and was made possible with funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
