Woodridge police arrived at the retention pond around 2 p.m. Dec. 3 for a report of a body in the water.
The body was removed from the pond by the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System Dive Team, according to Woodridge police.

Police do not suspect foul play
The body was taken to the DuPage County Coroner’s Office to be identified and for an autopsy, police report. The coroner’s office will release the person’s name once the family has been notified.

The body of an unidentified man was recovered at 4:25 p.m. Dec. 3 from a retention pond near 75th Street and Woodward Avenue in Woodridge.
The fire district was called to the scene around 3 p.m. to help Woodridge police. Police requested divers be available in case they needed to search for items in the pond.
Darien-Woodridge activated the Mutual Aid Box Alarm System Division 10 Dive Team, bringing help from Bolingbrook, Downers Grove, La Grange, Oak Brook and Riverside Fire Departments and Lemont, Lisle-Woodridge, Pleasantview Fire Districts.
After an initial examination by the DuPage County Coroner, further dive operations weren’t needed, according to the Darien-Woodridge Fire Protection District.
The age and ethnicity of the man is not known, Darien-Woodridge reported.
