Donations Sought To Benefit Families During Harvest Week Food Drive
West Suburban Community Pantry will host its Harvest Week Food Drive next week. See where you can drop off food donations.
WOODRIDGE, IL — West Suburban Community Pantry has enlisted the help of several area venues to accept donations during its Harvest Week Food Drive, which kicks off Sept. 22. The annual event marks the start of Hunger Action Season.
“In addition to the fresh produce, milk and eggs we offer, it’s important that we provide shelf stable basics that families can use to build meals. We need pantry staples like canned meats , chicken and tuna, rice, pasta, peanut butter, canned soup and low sugar canned fruit or low sodium canned vegetables," Paul Matsushima, Director of Pantry Operations, shared in a statement.
Masushima added, “We are always in need of diapers and baby wipes, as our customers cannot purchase these items with benefits.”
