Elderly Couple Killed in Saturday Crash on I-355 in Woodridge
The crash occurred on the Veterans Memorial Tollway near Boughton Road and killed the 87-year-old driver and his 91-year-old wife.
An elderly couple from Berwyn was killed in a crash on the I-355 northbound near Boughton Road in Woodridge on Saturday afternoon, when the driver’s side of their red Ford Taurus was struck by a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck, CBS Chicago reports.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Daniel J. Simone, 87, the driver, and his wife, Dimple Simone, 91, were pronounced dead at Adventist Bolingbrook Hospital shortly afterwards; the other driver was treated at a nearby hospital for minor injuries.
The tollway was reopened by 7:00 p.m.; Illinois State police are investigating the crash.
