Food Deliveries Added As Over 2 Dozen Families 'Reluctant' To Leave Home: Pantry

WOODRIDGE, IL — West Suburban Community Pantry (WSCP) is adding food deliveries to help accommodate more than two dozen families who have "specifically expressed reluctance to leave home to come to the Pantry for food," according to a statement shared by WSCP.

Additionally, WSCP says they've seen an increase in the number of clients who have failed to show up for appointments to shop for food at the pantry. WSCP noted that this uptick in "no-shows" comes [d]espite growing budget and resource challenges for families in DuPage and Will Counties."

"We are now looking at several additional delivery options to ensure families can safely access food in these uncertain times," WSCP's statement said.

They added that families can access additional support via the pantry for help with financial insecurity. These services include introducing clients to free programs and other resources.

WSCP said, "Support from our community makes it possible for WSCP to remain committed to access, care, and dignity for all our neighbors."
