Jubliee Coordinators Hope Rains Stay Away This Weekend
Wet weather cancels carnival rides for festival's first night, but coordinators remain optimistic.

Despite having to cancel carnival rides due to the weather on the first night of Woodridge Jubilee, festival coordinators are gearing up for another successful year.
“There is still a chance for scattered showers throughout the weekend, but we are hopeful that the rain will hit earlier in the day and not affect our entire schedule of events,” said Megan Pettit, public relations and marketing manager for the Woodridge Park District.
This year marks the 28th anniversary of Woodridge Jubilee. The annual festival features food, beverages, music, carnival rides, bingo and a petting zoo.
Co-hosted by the Woodridge Park District and the village of Woodridge, the festival is always a big draw.
“We typically see about 10,000 to 12,000 people visit the Woodridge Jubilee throughout the entire weekend,” Pettit said.
A fireworks spectacular is planned for 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
Musical entertainment for Woodridge Jubilee includes the Karen Hart Band and the Bon Jovi tribute band Bad Medicine.
A schedule of each day’s festival activities will be posted on Patch.
