WOODRIDGE, IL — The public meeting for residents to discuss a proposed McDonald's development has been postponed. Initially, the meeting was set for April 18, but has been rescheduled for May 2 to allow more time for a traffic study to be completed.

The petitioners, NARE Woodridge Management, LLC, have proposed a 3,958 square foot McDonald's near the intersection of 75th Avenue and Lemont Road. The proposal includes the construction of a new outlot with 34 parking spaces, including three for McDonald's customers who are picking up mobile orders and two spots designated for accessible parking.

After moving forward from the planning commission, the proposal was reviewed by Woodridge's board of commissioners.

Some residents who live in and near the Woodgrove Festival Shopping Center expressed concern about the proposed McDonald's, including potential problems with traffic and flooding.

A traffic study had been conducted in May 2023. In late March, village officials said they would reconsider the proposal after a new traffic study. NARE Woodridge Management, LLC, subsequently requested an extension to finish the study.
