More Than 40 Drivers Ticketed During Holiday Crackdown In Woodridge

Tickets were issued for speeding, improper seatbelt usage and other violations during the village's recent traffic enforcement campaign.

WOODRIDGE, IL — More than 40 drivers were recently ticketed for speeding, driving without insurance and other violations during a traffic enforcement campaign that spanned the holidays in Woodridge.

During the crackdown the following citations were issued:

  • 34 speeding tickets
  • Six tickets for improper seatbelt and child safety seat usage
  • Three tickets for driving without insurance
  • One ticket for driving with a suspended or revoked driver's license
  • Eight tickets for miscellaneous violations

One person was arrested after police discovered they had a warrant for failing to appear in court.

The safety initiative was part of the state's ongoing "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaign.

“We can’t stress this enough: Impaired driving is illegal, potentially deadly behavior, and it puts
the driver, passengers and all road users at risk,” Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in a news release.
