More Than 70 Speeding Tickets Issued During Crackdown In Woodridge

WOODRIDGE, IL — More than 70 drivers were ticketed for speeding during a traffic safety campaign in Woodridge that lasted throughout the month of July.

The following citations were issued:

  • 71 speeding tickets
  • 9 tickets for driving without valid insurance
  • 8 tickets for miscellaneous violations

Three drivers were cited for driving with a suspended or revoked license, and one person was arrested on a misdemeanor charge. Police also arrested a fugitive, according to a news release. The person had two failure to appear warrants related to traffic violations, Sgt. Dennis Brinkman told Patch.

The month-long initiative was part of a statewide campaign to enforce speed limits to improve road safety.
