More Than 80 Drivers Cited For Speeding In Woodridge
The citations came amid a statewide effort to target speeding drivers during the month of July.

WOODRIDGE, IL — More than 80 drivers were cited for speeding in Woodridge as part of a statewide crackdown on speed violations in July.
In total, Woodridge police issued 93 tickets, 82 of which were for driving over the speed limit. Four drivers were cited for driving without insurance, two were ticketed for distracted driving and one was cited for driving without a valid license. Police also issued four tickets for miscellaneous offenses.
"We continue to urge all drivers traveling through our community to slow down, obey speed
limits and drive responsibly," Woodridge Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement.

Stefanson added, "Every decision you make behind the wheel matters. It's truly not a game."
Woodridge was among hundreds of law enforcement agencies in Illinois to increase patrols for the Speeding Catches Up With You safety campaign, which began July 8 and concluded Aug. 1.
