Tornado Relief Focus Of Fundraiser BBQ In Woodridge
"A Doin' Good BBQ" will be held June 26 to benefit the Woodridge Neighbors Helping Neighbors Disaster Recovery Fund.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Three years since an EF-3 tornado cut an 11-mile path through Woodridge and surrounding towns, "A Doin' Good BBQ" plans to raise funds to help those who were impacted by the 2021 crisis.
The event, planned by Woodridge Neighbors Helping Neighbors, will be held at Seven Bridges Golf Club on June 26.

6 p.m.: Welcome ceremony, featuring retired police chief Brian Cunningham as emcee
6:30 p.m.: Barbecue starts, with wine and a cash bar available. A sundae station will be set up with ice cream and toppings.

7:30 p.m.: Live electric violin performance by The CoverGirls
8 p.m.: Remarks from Woodridge Strong Neighbors
8:20 p.m.: Live auctions begin

Woodridge Neighbors Helping Neighbors (WNHN) was formed in 2021, shortly after the June 20 tornado that damaged hundreds of homes and hospitalized nearly a dozen people. The organization, which became a 501(c)(3) in 2022 and continues to benefit families who are still displaced from their homes as a result of the tornado.
