Woodridge Cops Dole Out 80 Tickets For Memorial Day Crackdown

Woodridge police ticketed 80 drivers during a "Click It or Ticket" crackdown for the Memorial Day holiday.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police issued 80 citations as part of a recent "Click It or Ticket" crackdown during the Memorial Day holiday.

Tickets were issued and arrests were made for the following citations during this period of increased enforcement:

  • 14 tickets for seat belt violations
  • 41 speeding tickets
  • 17 tickets for miscellaneous traffic violations
  • Four tickets for child safety seat violations
  • Three tickets for driving without a valid license
  • One felony drug arrest

“Through the Memorial Day enforcement campaign, we helped make Illinois roads safer and
spread the word that seat belts and child safety restraints save lives,” Woodridge Police Deputy Chief Tom Stefanson said in a news release.

The statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign is made possible with federal highway safety funds from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
