Woodridge Cops Issue 93 Tickets During Recent Crackdown
Woodridge police doled out 92 tickets in April, amid increased patrols for Distracted Driving Awareness Month.
WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police ticketed 92 drivers for distracted driving and other violations during a recent crackdown conducted in April for Distracted Driving Month.
The citations included:
- 42 hands-free law citations
- 51 additional citations
- One arrest for aggravated DUI
- One arrest for cannabis possession
“Distracted Driving Awareness Month allowed Woodridge Police to bring a heightened awareness to stop motorists from engaging in this deadly behavior,” Woodridge Deputy Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a news release.

The initiative was part of a statewide campaign that included increased patrols throughout April to target drivers using cellphones or engaging in other types of distracted driving. The campaign was funded in part by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
