Alcohol Possession By A Minor, More Crime Reports In Yorkville
Crime incidents reported across Yorkville from the Kendall County Sheriff's Office and the Yorkville Police Department.

Civil Matter; body attachment
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office reported 26-year-old Ricardo Jesus Garcia Avila of the 2780 block of Cranston Circle, was accused in a civil matter and detained by deputies Thursday. The Yorkville man was charged with body attachment, according to the sheriff's office, and posted bond the same day.

Wednesday, Jan. 23
Too fast for conditions
The Yorkville Police Department said 30-year-old Brett Haas of the 400 block of Regency Court, Aurora, was driving a 2016 Kia Optima eastbound on route 34 Wednesday when he lost control and the Kia skidded off the road and into a middle construction area, hitting the raised concrete median. Police said there were no injuries, however the vehicle was towed from the scene and Haas was cited for driving too fast for conditions.

Yorkville police said 46-year-old Hortencia Aguilar of the 300 block of Mulhern Court, was driving a 2018 Honda Civic southbound on Eldamain Road onto Route 34 at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, when an unknown person driving directly behind hit the Honda's bumper being driven by Aguilar, with their front bumper. Police said Aguilar wasn't injured, but the other person drove away from the scene.
Damage to property
Yorkville police said 37-year-old Laura E. Intrain, of the 800 block of Fairfield Way, Aurora, told police she parked her 2015 Mazda Six in the south parking lot of her place of employment in the 100 block of South Main Street, Yorkville, while she worked from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Intrain told police that when she returned to her car, she noticed damage on the rear, passenger-side quarter panel. According to a police report, details of the vehicle that caused the damage are unknown at this time.
Domestic violence
The Kendall County Sheriff's Office reported 30-year-old Sonia Kowalski, of the 2390 block of Titus Drive, Yorkville, was charged with domestic violence Tuesday. According to the sheriff's office, the charge stems from a Jan. 11 incident.

Sunday, Jan. 20
Driving while license suspended
Yorkville police said 23-year-old Tachae D. Miles, of the 200 block of Whitfield Drive, Sugar Grove, was stopped by police for speeding at 9:51 p.m. Sunday at Route 47 and Fox Street. Police said the woman was arrested after they discovered her driver's license status was suspended. Police also accused Miles of speeding and driving with no insurance. According to police, she's been charged with driving while license suspended, speeding and driving with no insurance.

Retail theft; illegal alcohol possession by a minor
Yorkville police said a juvenile was charged with retail theft and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor after being accused of stealing alcohol from a business in the 300 block of North Bridge Street at 9:37 p.m. Saturday.
Winter crashes: Several vehicle crashes have been reported by Yorkville police in the last week, following dozens reported Jan. 14 by the sheriff's office and police departments across Kendall County. The Kendall County Sheriff's Department told Patch drivers are encouraged to be aware of road conditions if choosing to venture out. Please be careful.
