The Follies Theater is relocating from Utica to open Dec. 1 in downtown Yorkville.
The live theater venue will reside in two buildings side-by-side on Route 47, next to Cobblestone Bakery & Bistro on Van Emmon Street.
According to a press release, the theater "is delighted to be a part of this thriving and growing city."

"While we will miss Utica, it's an honor to be a part of Yorkville — just close enough for our regular Illinois Valley patrons to make a short drive to catch a Follies show...and much, much more," the release said.
Construction crews are already working on the new theater site, which will include raised seating for the audience on four levels, as well as a spacious lobby that offers bar service, wine tasting and specialty gourmet treats from Cobblestone Bakery and Bistro.

The Yorkville Follies Theater will have a similar Art Deco-style decor as the former Utica location, as well as complement the historic building and downtown vision, according to the release.
