Local Fundraiser Set for Resident Needing Lung Transplant

Tuffy Yorkville - Tire & Auto Service: will be hosting a car wash fundraiser from 9 a.m. to noon, August 3. All proceeds will benefit U4Sue, a Yorkville resident who is in need of a double lung transplant. Tuffy Yorkville is located at 456 E. Veterans Parkway.

• Cornerstone Young Women's Learning Center in Plano is seeking items for a charity garage sale. Drop offs are accepted at Cornerstone, 405 S. Hale Street, Plano between 8 a.m. and noon on Thursday, Aug. 15.
• Cobblestone Bakery and Bistro: has new specialty bakery items - Bavarian Cream Fruit Tart Donuts & Bavarian Cream Fruit Tarts. And, the bakery can make a gluten-free version of the fruit tart with a weeks notice.
• Ugly's Hot Dogs: is hoping everyone will support Big Daddy's, the hot dog stand that replaced Ugly's. The owners of Ugly's retired from food and remain comfortable with that decision, they told friends on its Facebook page.
