Man Dies After Car Rolls Backwards In Driveway: Yorkville Police
A man was working on a car in the driveway of his home when the car began rolling away, pinning him underneath, police said.

YORKVILLE, IL — A man was killed Friday morning after a car rolled on top of him as he worked on it in the driveway of a Yorkville residence, according to police.
Officers responded at 7:51 a.m. to the 1900 block of Banbury Avenue, where a preliminary investigation revealed the man was doing work on a car in the driveway of a residence when the car began to roll backward.
The car ran over and trapped the man underneath it, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

In their Friday morning news release, police did not identify the man.
Initial findings show the incident was accidental, but Yorkville police continue investigating the crash “to determine all circumstances involved,” according to a news release.

“Our thoughts are with the family, friends, and community members affected by this tragic incident,” officials wrote in the release. “Losing a loved one so suddenly and in such a heartbreaking way is an unimaginable loss. We hope for strength and comfort for those affected by this loss.”
