Medical Sharps No Longer Accepted At 24-Hour Drop Box In Kendall County
The Kendall County Coroner's Office said it paused operating its 24-hour sharps drop box indefinitely.

YORKVILLE, IL — The Kendall County Coroner's Office has indefinitely paused its 24-hour medical sharps drop box, effective Wednesday.
The office said it will no longer operate the outdoor collection bin, located outside of its facility at 804 W. John St. in Yorkville, due to a large number of loose needles being deposited without safe containers.
For those who used the box and now need a way to dispose of medical sharps, the coroner's office accepts them in the office during regular business hours: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Kendall County residents can also request free sharps containers — to make "safe disposal easy and convenient" — from the office.
