Missing Yorkville Man Has Been Found; He Is "Safe": Police
Erik J. Jendrzejczyk, missing since Aug. 11, told the police he "left Yorkville voluntarily and at no time was he in danger."
YORKVILLE, IL — A 26-year-old man who had been missing since Aug. 11 has been found, according to the police. The Yorkville Police Department said in a release Friday Erik J. Jendrzejczyk is "safe and has been located."
"Erik has spoken to, and met with law enforcement officers, and it has been determined that he left Yorkville voluntarily and at no time was he in danger," the release said.
In an earlier release, police said that had Jendrzejczyk was staying with his sister in Yorkville during the 7-10 days before he went missing. Police said he went missing between 12:30 a.m. and 6 a.m., leaving no note or any indication of where he'd gone.

The Yorkville Police Department said it is grateful for all the information and assistance offered by Jendrzejczyk’s family and the public throughout this investigation. Over the last few weeks, investigation officers and detectives interviewed more than 30 individuals, performed a K9 track, a ground search, a search of the Fox River and conducted numerous home visits to conduct interviews.
"The subpoena powers of the courts were also utilized in an effort to generate leads in this investigation," police said in the release. "We understand that, at times, our investigation may seem stagnant to the general public. Although we may not publicly comment on each step in the investigative process, our investigation was in constant motion."
