New Sports Enhancement Facility Coming to Yorkville
Owner and former NFL player Tavian Banks said Carpe Diem is designed for speed, agility and strength conditioning.

Yorkville will be getting a touch of star power with its new sports enhancement facility that is scheduled to open in early August.
Carpe Diem Sports Enhancement, 728 E. Veterans Parkway, Suite 101, is founded by former NFL Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tavian Banks.
Banks has over 20 years of experience in training between coaching for the University of Louisville, educating and training at Velocity Sports Performance, Plainfield’s Xtreme Speed, amongst his professional sports training.

“When I was drafted in the NFL… I trained with Jerry Rice, Jerry Sanders, Eddie George,” said Banks. He said one of his mentors is Roger Craig, who has won three Superbowls.
Banks said Carpe Diem is a different kind of training than crossfit and other styles. “What I do is more conditioning and agility and speed work,” said Banks, which he said complements sports enhancement.

Banks will be the head trainer at Carpe Diem and said he will have a staff of certified coaches as well.
Carpe Diem will train those as young as eight years old up to adults and professional athletes.
“We’ll have a grand opening in the beginning of August,” said Banks. “Just waiting on the equipment to get in.”
