School Threat At Yorkville HS Leads To Student's Arrest: Police

A student was charged with felony disorderly conduct and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center.

YORKVILLE, IL — A student is charged with felony disorderly conduct after Yorkville police say a "specific threat" to harm people on the Yorkville High School campus Thursday afternoon.

Yorkville police were made aware of the threat after the school day ended on Thursday, according to a news release. Police said investigators found the student, who was taken into custody and brought to the Juvenile Justice Center in St. Charles.

Police did not give the student's age.

Police said they believe the threat is an isolated incident "and there is no longer a known threat." But Yorkville police and the Yorkville Community Unit School District 115 security teams will have a visible presence at Yorkville High School on Friday.

Police thanked the "concerned individuals" who came forward to report the threat.
