According to police, a car rear-ended the school bus Tuesday morning while in traffic at Galena Road, west of Route 47.

YORKVILLE, IL — A student was injured Tuesday when a school bus carrying several juveniles was rear ended in Yorkville, according to the Yorkville Police Department. Yorkville police responded to the scene at Galena Road, west of Route 47 at 8:23 a.m., according to a police report. That's where police discovered that a 1997 Honda Accord driven by 22-year-old Alexandra Cuevas of the 100 block of Palamino Drive in Plano, rear ended the school bus being driven by 54-year-old Robert Schneller, of South Street in Bristol.

Cuevas was cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, according to a police report, which also listed a charge against the woman for the same offense.

The juvenile student was taken to the hospital for minor injuries, police said. None of the 16 other students or bus driver were injured.
