Summer Solstice Festival Starts Saturday Early Afternoon

The first music group kicks off at 11:30 a.m.

Music, craft beer and canoeing. Looks like it’s time for the Summer Solstice Festival.

Rogue Barrister Records has teamed up with Three Angels Brewin to provide a two-day long festival in downtown Yorkville at Riverfront Park that features a selection of indie music and tasting of craft beers.

Friday’s concerts are free to the public in collaboration with Yorkville’s River Night

  • 11:30 a.m. Hix Bros. All Stars
  • 1:30 p.m. Back Alley Blossoms
  • 2:45 p.m. Cory Chisel + The Wandering Sons
  • 4:20 p.m. Calvin Conway
  • 5:40 p.m. Phox
  • 7 p.m. Communist Daughter
  • 8:20 p.m. Colin Lake

Three Angels Brewing with the help of good friends Superior Beverage will be hosting an exclusive craft beer tasting from 11:30 to 5:00 on Saturday. Participating breweries include:

  • Brooklyn
  • Ommegang
  • Widmer Brothers
  • Central Waters
  • Kona
  • Redhook
  • Goose Island
  • Ale Syndicate
  • Uinta, Milwaukee
  • Kentucky Ales

The cost of admission will include admission to the indie music concert, a commemorative glass, and (15) 2 ounce tastings. Tickets and Supplies will be limited. Additional tastings may be available for purchase while supplies last.   

For those that wanted to enjoy the day on the Fox River, there will be flotilla from Saw-wee-kee Park to Yorkville available as  a ticket option. 

The launch will be from Saw-wee-kee at around 10:30 a.m. and the armada of canoes will land at the festival site at a time directly related to the ambition of the individual paddlers.

And for all those concerned Blackhawks fans, according to the Summer Solstice Facebook page, there will be a Blackhawks viewing area for the Saturday night game on site.
