Government, police, trash pickup
- City Hall: Yorkville's City Hall is closed Thursday.
- Trash collection: Trash collection will be delayed by one day because the Fourth of July falls on a weekday, according to the City of Yorkville website.
- Emergency: Call 911 for police or fire emergencies. For any non-emergency, call the Yorkville Police Department at (630) 553-4340
Around town
- Post office: The Yorkville Post Office will not be open on the Fourth of July, nor will there be any mail delivery or pickup.
- Library: The Yorkville Public Library will be not be open Thursday, but you can still drop off borrowed books, DVDs, etc., in the book return. The library will be open regular hours on Wednesday, July 3 (10 a.m. to 7 p.m.) and Friday, July 5 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Businesses

- Banks: Most banks will be closed on Wednesday, so call your branch before you head out the door.
Metra schedules
The BNSF line will be running a special schedule Wednesday, July 3; the Heritage Corridor Line will run a normal weekday schedule.On July 4, there will be no service on the Heritage Corridor line, while the BNSF line will operate on the Sunday/holiday schedule.

- 12:20 PM - Express to Downers Grove and makes all stops to Aurora
- 2:25 PM - Express to Naperville/Route 59
- 3:10 PM - Express to Naperville/Route 59
- 3:50 PM - Express to Naperville/Route 59/Aurora
- 3:21 PM - (#1241) - Will terminate at Downers Grove, Main Street
- 4:26 PM - (#1274) - Will depart from Downers Grove, Main Street and will not stop at Aurora.
