Yard Waste Collection Starts Soon: What To Throw Out In Yorkville

Things to know before you set yard waste out for collection.

YORKVILLE, IL — The United City of Yorkville is notifying residents that yard waste collection by Advanced Disposal begins next week. The City asks residents to put all materials, including brush, food scraps and yard waste out for collection by 6 a.m. on your normally scheduled garbage day.

While refuse stickers aren't required, there are a few things to note for yard waste collection:

  • Yard waste must be placed in 33-gallon Kraft paper bags designed for yard waste collection.
  • Food scraps can be mixed in with the yard waste and are collected in the same truck as regular yard waste.
  • Any brush and branches less than 4 inches in diameter must be cut into 4-foot lengths, bundled with twine or string and not weigh more than 50 pounds.

Yard waste collection will run April 1 through Nov. 30.
