Yorkville Business Update Oct 9

Advanced Disposal services in the United City of Yorkville is having its Fall amnesty day pickup the week of October 21-25. On your normal garbage day, you can set out large items, including refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, ranges, stoves, trash compactors, washers, dryers, dishwasher, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, microwaves, water softeners, televisions, pianos, organs, tables, chairs, mattresses, box springs, bookcases, sofas, other pieces of similar furniture, and carpet rolls cut into 4-foot length sections weighing less than 50-pounds each. These items will be picked up that week for free. White good items containing PCBs, and construction debris is specifically excluded from this list and will not be picked up.

In other business news:

  • Energetic Health Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine will host an open house on from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Nov. 16 in honor of Veterans Day. To show appreciation to those who have served in any branch of the military, the business will give free mini acupuncture treatments and mini chair massages. Appointments are available to those who have served during active-duty or during times of peace, along with their family members. Those interested should call 630-553-1783 to schedule a time slot.
  • Mutual Ground in neighboring Aurora is in need of an office desk for a new staff member, one that is not too big would be best suited for the space. If you can help, call 630-897-0084.
